Robert Woodruff Jr., President
Robert A. Woodruff, Jr. is a 1993 graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a BSBA in Agricultural Business. The fifth generation of the Woodruff family to lead the company, Bob became Co-President of Woodruff Energy in 2006 and President in 2009. He has led the company into the expanding natural gas and propane markets, as well as introduced Biofuel into the home heating oil and diesel markets. In addition to guiding the company into energy related opportunities, Bob is very active in his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the First National Bank of Elmer, is Treasurer of the Marlton Recreation Association Board, and is Founder of the Woodstown Heat Baseball Club. Bob has served as Vice President for the Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey. He and his wife Jennifer reside in Pilesgrove, NJ with their three children, Kathryn, Robert III, and Benjamin.
Andrew Ficarra, Chief Financial Officer
Andrew Ficarra joined Woodruff Energy as CFO in May 2018. His background encompasses a variety of experience in all areas of finance and management. In his most recent position as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Andrew managed a team responsible for providing Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors with financial forecasting, decision support analysis, and recommendation guidance to help the business track progress and meet organizational goals. Andrew is an active CPA, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from Wilmington University. Andrew resides in Middletown, Delaware with his wife Heather and two sons, Roman and Dominic.
Michele Kirstein, Vice-President, Company Systems and Operations
Michele Kirstein began her career with Woodruff Energy in 1988 as an Office Manager with our associated company in Vineland. In 2008 Michele joined the Woodruff office staff in the Bridgeton office and is currently a Vice-President overseeing company systems and operations. Michele has been instrumental in moving the company forward towards the most current computer and data processing technology and also assists in many other aspects of the business. Born and raised in Upper Deerfield Township, she currently resides in Hopewell Township with her daughter, Lauren. She is a member and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton and enjoys baking specialty cakes, photography and traveling.
Bob Petracci, Vice-President, Natural Gas Operations
Bob Petracci was the first person hired by the company to help start up the natural gas department in 1996 when he joined Woodruff Energy as a natural gas salesman. In 2001, Bob was promoted to the position of Director of Operations where he managed the expansion and rapid growth of the natural gas division. Today, Bob is the Vice President of that division and he remains very active in all sales and marketing efforts. He is a graduate of Robert Morris University with a Marketing Degree. Bob lives in Egg Harbor Township with his wife Riki and their three children, Allie, Robbie and Angelina. He has been a Board Member of the EHT Baseball Association where he coached for many years. Bob is an avid runner, and also enjoys membership in several other organizations.
Shawn Applegate, Vice-President, HVAC Service & Installation
Derrick Shawn Applegate joined Woodruff Energy in November 2013 as the General Manger of our HVAC service and installation departments. Shawn has been instrumental in the reorganization and development of a strong, qualified HVAC department. He brings with him 22 years of HVAC experience in both the residential and commercial fields. Shawn is certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) which is a national standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work. He also holds a Universal HVAC Certification. One of Shawn’s prize accomplishments is having been the supervisor of the HVAC team on Extreme Home Makeover, for a home project in Camden NJ. Shawn resides in Hammonton with his wife, Tara and his three sons, Shawn, Dalton, and Zack. When away from work he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Chris Walsh, Manager, Fuel Department Operations
Christopher Walsh began working at Woodruff Energy in 2010 as a part-time, seasonal dispatcher. Two years later, Chris was given the full-time position of Data Entry Specialist at Woodruff Energy, where he handled the posting of payments and fuel deliveries to customer accounts. Chris continued to learn and study the daily operations of the fuel department over the next couple of years. By assisting with the everyday dispatching duties and account maintenance, Chris’ knowledge of the daily fuel operations grew to the point where he became Woodruff Energy’s Fuel Department Manager in early 2015. With over 15 years of managerial experience in areas such as retail and construction, Chris takes pride in his customer service, attention to detail, and willingness to get the job done right. Born and raised in Vineland, Chris currently resides in Millville with his wife, Tracey, and their son, Brady. Along with being an avid sports fan and a frequent traveler, Chris also enjoys the beach, attending concerts and participating in any sports related activities.
